Hello everyone and happy 2021! 😀
Last year, Apache AGE (Incubating) was released under the leadership of Apache Software Foundation (ASF). Established in 1999, Apache Software Foundation (ASF) oversees more than 350 leading open-source projects, including Apache HTTP Server, the world’s most popular web server software.
Our team is looking for aspiring contributors around the world for Apache AGE (Incubating) project!
What is “Apache AGE”?
Apache AGE is a PostgreSQL extension that provides graph database functionality. Apache AGE is inspired by AgensGraph, a multi-model graph database fork of PostgreSQL 10. The goal of the project is to create single storage that can handle both the relational and graph data model so that users can use standard ANSI SQL along with openCypher.
Apache AGE Features
- Currently being developed for the PostgreSQL 11 release and will support PostgreSQL 12 and 13 in 2021 and all the future releases of PostgreSQL.
- Supports the openCypher graph query language and label hierarchy.
- Enables querying multiple graphs at the same time. This will allow a user to query two or more graphs at once with Cypher, decide how to merge them, and get the desired query outputs.
- To be enhanced with an aim to support all of the key features of AgensGraph (PostgreSQL fork extended with graph DB functionality).
