Hello everyone! We had a blast in Postgres Vision 2019 held at Sheraton Boston Hotel on June 24-26. Postgres users from all around the globe participated and communicated with us regarding their interest in AgensGraph.
Postgres Vision 2019 was hosted by Enterprise DB corporation. Business leaders, database professionals, and developers delivered their presentations and discussed the future of Postgres technologies. Out of 340 registered attendees, 120 people visited our booth and AgensGraph team had a walk-around discussion with 25~40 developers.
Our presence in the Postgres community was unique and welcomed. Most attendees were not familiar with the graph database, but they were eager to come to us and learn about it. The distinct trait of AgensGraph came from being a multi-model in contrast to pure graph DBMS like Neo4j. Being built on top of PostgreSQL was a brownie point for our acceptance at Postgres Vision 2019.
The highlight of Postgres Vision 2019 is when the presentation speaker of Bitnine revealed the PG Extension development plan for AgensGraph. The Postgres users who were familiar with AgensGraph have been waiting for an extension for the past few years. Once the beta version of PG Extension is released by early 2020, the Postgres users will be able to easily extend the graph database capabilities in their existing Postgres operating environment.
Several big names in IT industry took interest in Bitnine’s roadmap within the Postgres community. They expressed great interests in AgensGraph for its fascinating features in stability, performance, and full compatibility with PostgreSQL.
