Last Wednesday (2/15), the 6th meetup was held in Silicon Valley. It was very significant because Corey’s (Co-founder of Cambridge Intelligence) presentation on graph data was visually mesmerizing. Additionally, a new member joined the team – George Nam. George has over 7 years of industry relevant experience in marketing and he’ll help coordinate future meetup events.
The meetup began at 7:00pm with Ryan’s introduction of the agenda. He also introduced Dr. Kim’s speech which related to the newly released AgensGraph v.1.0. Dr. Kim is the CTO of Bitnine. He explained the concept of graph database and the structure of AgensGraph. He received a lot of questions in regards to the Neo4j comparison. He answered why AgensGraph has a comparative advantage. One of the main features of AgensGraph is the hybrid multi DBMS which supports both SQL and Cypher. Moreover, it has better performance in query.
In the main presentation, Corey explained KeyLines integration into powerful real-time big data platform, delivering easy access to network insight from any kind of data. After a trial of several technologies, KeyLines was chosen based on superior performance, functionality and support. It is also a visualization application used by customers to gain connected, temporal and geospatial views of their data.
His speech was very informative and meaningful to our meetup friends. Nobody left the seat during the presentation. They asked many questions about Keylines to Corey.
The 7th meetup will be held on 3/15 in Silicon Valley. The next speaker is Dr. Julian Gómez who has spent the last few decades pushing 3D computer graphics into new areas. His career has been equally split between academia and industry, including the publication of several papers, software products, and websites, with a focus on interdisciplinary R&D.
Thank you for everyone for your continual support of our meetups.
